Understanding Make Order Timers
Updated over 2 weeks ago

When placing a make order on Novig, you can set a custom duration for how long your order remains active.

Key Timer Rules for Make Orders

Pregame Make Orders

  • Expiration: Your pregame make order will cancel at whichever comes first:

    • When your custom duration time expires

    • When the game/event goes live

  • Important: Even if you set a duration that extends beyond the event's scheduled start time, your order will automatically cancel when the game/event begins

Live (In-play) Make Orders

  • When placing a live/in-play make order, you will be required to set an order duration before proceeding

    • Game End (default): Your make order will remain active and available to be matched until the game/event ends.

    • Custom Duration: Your make order will remain active and available to be matched from the time of placement until the amount of time you select has elapsed.

  • Expiration: Your live/in-play make order will cancel at whichever comes first:

    • When your custom duration time expires

    • When the game ends

  • Important: Even if you set a duration that extends beyond the event's expected end time, your order will automatically cancel when the event concludes

Game Timing Considerations

  • Scheduled Start Times: The displayed start time is our best estimate but may not always be exact

  • Early Game Starts: If a game/event begins before its scheduled start time, we may update its status to "live" and cancel all pregame make orders

  • Event Variations: Some events, like combat/tennis/golf matches, may have more variable start times than others

Pro Tips for Managing Your Make Orders

  • Set realistic durations: Consider the time until the game starts when setting your pregame make order duration

  • Monitor game status: Keep an eye on when events are going live, especially for events with variable start times

  • Use shorter durations for volatile markets: For fast-moving markets, consider shorter make order durations to avoid missing opportunities
