Why can't I redeem my Novig Cash?

Learn why your Novig Cash may not be redeemable, how playthrough requirements work, and how to troubleshoot redemption issues.

When you place a trade using Novig Cash, that Cash remains "in play" until the trade is fully settled. This means your redeemable balance may appear lower than expected if you have pending trades. Once all trades settle and the 1x playthrough requirement is met, your balance — including any winnings — becomes available for redemption.

Pending or rejected trades do not count toward playthrough requirements and do not contribute to your redeemable balance until fully settled.

Troubleshooting redemption issues

If you're unable to redeem your Novig Cash:

  1. Check your currency type: Make sure you're using Novig Cash (blue), not Novig Coins (yellow) — only Novig Cash is redeemable.

  2. Check pending trades: Go to your Portfolio and review the Settled tab to see the status of your trades. Pending trades may still be tying up your balance.

  3. Check your location: You must be physically located in an eligible state to redeem. See the "Where Can I Play Novig?" article for the full list.

Novig Cash vs. Novig Coins

  • Novig Cash (blue): Redeemable for real cash prizes (USD) if your trades win, subject to playthrough requirements.

  • Novig Coins (yellow): Used for practice trading only and cannot be redeemed for real currency.

How the 1x playthrough requirement works

New Novig Cash must circulate through trades before it can be redeemed. A few things to know:

  • Redemption can only occur after trades are fully settled.

  • Hedging (placing trades on both sides of a game) counts toward playthrough.

  • Funds from Early Payouts can be used for further trades.

  • Subsequent purchases may increase the total required playthrough, potentially delaying redemption.

When you place a trade using newly purchased Novig Cash, that Cash remains "in play" until the corresponding trades are fully settled. For example, if you’ve engaged in pending trades like parlays, the Cash tied to those trades will count against your redeemable balance until settled. Once these trades are settled, your redeemable balance increases—potentially including winnings—becomes available for redemption. Pending trades can lead to scenarios where your redeemable balance appears lower than expected. Once all trades settle, the funds should meet the 1x playthrough requirement, at which point withdrawals can proceed.
