How do cash outs work?
Cash out lets you close an eligible position before your event ends, for the current market price of your contracts. That price is based on what other traders are willing to pay for your position right now — it isn't a fixed percentage of your stake, so your cash out amount can be more or less than what you originally staked.
How is my cash out value calculated?
Your cash out amount reflects the best price other traders would currently pay for your contracts — essentially, what the market thinks your position is worth at this moment. This value updates continuously as odds move, so it can go up or down between the time you place your order and the time you decide to cash out.
Because it's based on live market pricing rather than your original stake:
Your cash out value can be higher than your stake if the odds have moved in your favor.
Your cash out value can be lower than your stake if the odds have moved against you.
Which orders can be cashed out?
Cash out is only available for straight orders (single-market trades). Parlays and live player props are not eligible for cash out.
For eligible straight orders, cash out may still not be available in every case — if a position doesn't have a cash out option, it means there currently isn't enough market activity to generate a live price for it.
Note: Currently, you can't cash out a position if you have more than one trade on the same market — cash out is only available when you hold a single trade on that market.
Can I cash out a Make order?
Yes, Make orders are eligible for cash out — but only once all of the liquidity you posted has been matched. If any portion of your Make order is still open and available for other traders to take, you won't be able to cash out yet. You'll need to cancel the remaining unmatched liquidity first; once it's canceled, the matched portion of your position becomes eligible for cash out.
How do I cash out a position?
Go to Portfolio.
Find the position you want to close. If it's eligible, you'll see a Cash Out button showing the current offer amount.
Tap Cash Out to review the offer, including your profit or loss for the trade.
Tap Confirm Cash Out.
Once confirmed, your position is closed and the cash out amount is added to your wallet immediately. You'll see a confirmation with the final amount and your profit/loss.
What actually happens when I cash out?
Cashing out isn't a refund — the system closes your position by placing an offsetting order on the opposing side of your original trade. That offsetting order fills at the best available price, which is why your position can close for more or less than your stake.
This means what looks like one clean line item in your Portfolio is actually made up of several individual transactions behind the scenes.
Why do I see extra transactions in my Account history?
When you check Account > Transactions, you may see line items you didn't personally place, such as:
An order on the opposing side of your original trade (the automatic offsetting order)
A Price Improvement entry on that offsetting order
A Cash Out entry that's for a different amount than the offer you saw on the button
These are all real, legitimate parts of your cash out — the system just breaks the single amount you saw into its component trades. Added together, they equal the cash out amount you confirmed.
Example breakdown
Say you staked $100 on a moneyline trade at +147, and the cash out button showed an offer of $92.59.
Transaction | Market | Amount |
Order Placed | Original moneyline | −$100.00 |
Order Placed | Offsetting moneyline (opposing side) | −$159.26 |
Price Improvement | Offsetting moneyline | +$4.94 |
Cash Out | Offset @ Original | +$246.91 |
Net result |
| −$7.41 |
Your Portfolio shows a single "Cashed Out — $92.59" line, but your Transactions tab shows the four individual entries above, which net out to the same result.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my cash out a fixed percentage of my stake? Cash out value is based on real-time market pricing, not a formula applied to your stake. It reflects what other traders would pay for your position right now.
Can I lose money by cashing out? Yes. If the market has moved against your position since you placed it, your cash out value can be lower than your original stake.
Can I cash out for more than I staked? Yes. If the market has moved in your favor, your cash out value can be higher than your original stake.
Can I cash out a parlay? No. Cash out is only available for straight orders (single-market trades). Parlays currently can't be cashed out.
Why can't I cash out a particular position? Cash out isn't available for every order. If you don't see a Cash Out button, there currently isn't enough market activity to generate a live price for that position.
Is cashing out the same as getting a refund? No. Cashing out closes your position by placing an offsetting order on the other side of your trade, rather than simply returning your stake.
